Gutentag!!

Well apologies for not posting for so long! Work had gone a bit mental and I wasn't very well, but things turn round and hopefully I can get this blog back on track, and start to make some cute things again. I think i'm going to try and make some Halloween things early, especially as i'm going away in October. Speaking of going away, I only recently just got back from Munich in Germany. It was just what I needed and I had a lovely time, I would reccomend it to anyone. The people were so friendly, the weather was beautiful, only had one afternoon when it rained. The arhitecture was amazing, just regular shops were old and ornate! The food was lovely, and I was brave and tried the famous local delicacy, weisswurst! Steamed white veal sausages, with pretzls and a sweet mustard. I was quite scared at first, as the mention of veal put me off a bit, but it was actually pretty tasty! I didn't get to try any, but the decorated gingerbread hearts were everywhere, and they looked so pretty, hanging on the market stalls! I took this picture at the Virtuelmarkt! Another thing that was in alot of shops, was marzipan figures, especially made into the famous Munich treats, Pretzls, Weisswurst, Beer, radishes etc, and I thought they were really cute!
Souveneirs were a little light on the ground at first, and I was beginning to panic, what was I going to buy people?? Luckily, I managed to find some eventually. One thing I turned up was Bavarian Rubber Ducks, I bought Lily a German Frau, and I bought myself this funky Herr Duck! They make me smile!
Beer is everywhere there, as it is what Munich is most famous for, but as a non drinker I still found plenty to enjoy. The Beer Halls had a fantastic atmosphere, and were decorated with so much, you couldn't help but just sit and constantly look about you. We went to the Agustinier, which is the oldest Beerhall in Munich, and had one room that was completely decorated in shells! My favourite place to go was the Hofbrauhaus, which is the most famous Beerhall & brewery as it is the Royal one. It is here that I tried Weisswurst, had Spezi which is cola and lemonade mixed together and is very refreshing! It was entertaining also watching Dave trying to lift a full litre tankard of Beer!
We took a daytrip on the Thursday to go and see the Neuchwanstein Castle, which was built by King Ludwig II, known as the Fairy Tale King (he had a few issues). Ludwig had an obsession building medievel, mythical style castles and the Neuchwanstein is no exception. Built in the Alps, it is stunningly beautiful. We walked up to the castle, (which I thought was going to kill me), however the views were worth it. The alps were stunning, and the sun had come out, it was amazing! Only 15 rooms were completed, due to money issues and King Ludwig dying in mysterious circumstances. The Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Resort Paris, is based on the Neuchwanstein castle, and when you look at the detail, you can see how closely they copied the design. I always manage to find a link to Disney somewhere! lol!

Equality is the only way!!

I recently received a comment from Gina, who has her own blog - http://everythinglgbt.blogspot.com/2011/05/forming-network.html
Her blog is very interesting and is looking about spreading the LGBT word, through media, whether it be books, film, tv and popular culture in general!
As a straight woman, I cannot comprehend what some people have to go through. I have been very lucky to have been brought up in a loving family who told me whatever my life choices were I would be supported. I think I was told this before I even knew what life choices I had, lol! Two of my closest friends in the world are gay, and I know the difficulties they have gone through from coming out to work colleagues, not being able to tell family etc. I have had many a fantastic night down Canal Street in Manchester and also at Manchester Pride, and have always been made to feel so welcome. I have been introduced to the L Word, and Sarah Walters novels, which some have become my favourite reads. So my world has been opened up alot, and whether gay or straight I think many would benfit from this forum, so check it out!
As my blog deals with cute, one of my previously mentioned friends, has been spamming me all night with cute gay pics! Lol, I have also been on the search, they may not be truly Kawaii but they are cute!
Firstly, we can't have cute without Hello Kitty!!! Here she is, all ready for a Pride parade!
These cupcakes look so tasty, and I love how the rainbow layers have been done, I don't know how they did it, but it looks amazing!
Next, I love this hat!!! It's awesome! This pic is from San Fransiscos Pride, love it!!
You can always rely on anime to give us cute love!!!
And lastly whoever you are, can anyone resist a Pancake Orgy!!! Thanks to Kawaiinot, no we can't!!

So many Bank Holidays!!!

I haven't had a chance to post in a while, I've been so busy with work, and then all these bank holidays!!! I worked the Royal Wedding, which was strange as we didn't open till 1pm, so staff had chance to see the wedding. There was only me and 2 others to put the wjole delivery out, lol! But we did it and made it upstairs to see the Wedding dress! Which I must say, considering i'm not that fussed about stuff like that, I thought it was gorgeous!
Anyway I've been having a quick peek around the internet to see what cute wedding stuff I could find!
You can't beat Royal Wedding gnomes! Will add a touch of royal cuteness to any garden!
I love these biscuits! Just the London theme alone is awesome for any tea party!
Then last but not least how cute are these toys from the Early Learning Centre?? I love the Corgi!
Until next time, enjoy!!

The Easter Bunny is coming....

Well my giveaway was a success in the fact that one person entered ( Congrats Jae, prize being posted this week & thanks for reading my blog), and not a success in the fact that only one person entered, lol! I shall persevere & hopefully numbers will build!
So Easter is rapidly coming upon us, I have put my Easter display up, and finally this morning I got around to actually making some bits. I have opted for egg cosie's this year. I found them very relaxing to make, which is good as I had an awful day at work on sat!
Having a quick look around the net, these cute things caught my eye!
I love this little chicks, which I think are made from card. I found these at The Chic-Adee shop, which is obvioulsy run by a very talented person. Google it and check out the beautiful easter wreaths.
Next I love this little bunny girl image! Makes me think of when I cosplayed as a bunny! This is actually a greetings card by Ansy, at www.stockfresh.com.
Last but not least, if you do not squeal out loud at these cute amigurumi bunnies, then your on the wrong site! They are by Stephanie Jessica Lau & I found them on the Craftzine blog.
So that's my update, hope everyone gets lots of eggs!!
Happy Easter!

Help Japan!

We have all seen the awful pictures that have come from the aftermath of the Earthquake in Japan. As the story starts to disappear from the main news, we need to ensure that the situation does not fade from our minds, and that we realise it os going to take alot of time to recover the country and that Japan will need help! So if you can, please make a doantion in any way that you can! The easiest is direct to the Japan Tsunami appeal, via the Red Cross - http://www.redcross.org.uk/Donate-Now
or if you want to support Japan through your love of Kawaii, then you can do that through various generous peeps. Just a few that I've found are - http://www.rilakkumashop.com - This shop is selling limited editions Rilakkuma plushies to help raise funds for Japan. So not only can you bag yourself something unusual, but you will also be helping a worthy cause!!
www.askingfortrouble.org - The very talented and kind Marceline from Asking for trouble is giving donations of £4 for every copy of her Kawaii Japan book to the red cross. This runs until April 9th. This book is "A self-published book of writing, photography and illustration from three trips to Japan", if any of you haven't looked at Marcelines site, I reccomend it, as her illustrations are amazing and she has really cute stuff for sale in her shop!
If you check out the Gorilla mouth blog (http://www.gorillamouth.com) you will see that is planning Kaiju for Japan, with people submitting art, which will go on sale April 22nd to raise funds. I would check it out, as the pics show some amazing pieces are being submitted!!
I was reading the Modes for you facebook group yesterday and saw this pic/info on Project holding hands, all popular characters coming together, to raise a smile, and to encourage people to be positive, especially children. I think thats what hits home most, the Japanese peoples bravery and positivity. They have been through such trauma, but they are already looking to the future. My friend Nao is Japanese, and lives in Tokyo, and I was so worried when I saw the headlines. I emailed her immediately, and thankfully she was able to answer back, saying she was ok, very scared but ok. I've only heard from her once since then, i'm sure she's doing fine, but I feel that doing what I can from this end, is showing my support to her!
So help where you can!!

Another year older!

Hello!!! I've been away for a while! Work has been uber busy, and I just haven't had chance to do anything at all, we have a new regional manager, he was coming to visit etc, so yeah busy busy! Then before I knew it, it was my birthday!! I have officially turned 28 now (Boo!) I suppose i'd better change my personal info, bleh! But I must say, it was a lovely birthday, that has spanned over many days! For example I was still receiving presents today! I have been incredibly spoilt, and received some amazing presents (Dave got me an Ipad for one!). At the last count I had 49 cards!! My family and friends are so generous, it's unbelieveable. I spent the weekend in Manchester with my friend Lizzie and on the Saturday, all of the Manchester crew met up for a meal at the Spicy Hut, which was lovely! Just a few samples of the amazing presents I got -
Jimmy got me the Cute Book and the Bad Book - I cannot wait to try and make some of these things!
Loui got me a Manga and then this cute Happy Birthday Hello Kitty model.
Lizzie got me dvds, rollerskate keyrings, this amazing Russian Doll face purse, which came with a really cute hairclip! Then as an added surprise, she got me this amazing Noodle Bowl from Paperchases Tokyo daytrippers range!
Then today I was given a gift from Diane and her daughter Anna from work, these really unusual Hello Kitty bands, which I love! (I have no idea why this photo has gone sideways, it's saved the right way!)
So all in all I have been a very lucky girl! Maybe turning 28 isn't so bad!!
I will hopefully be updating more reguarly again, and in the next couple of days I will be attempting my first giveaway competition! So watch this space!!
