Loves nice surprises!!!

I have come home to a very nice surprise tonight, a message from my friend Judy (mentioned lots & currently in Japan). Judy has just been to Tokyo Disneyland, JEALOUS!!!

I cannot wait to see her photos, (I'm hoping she took lots), but I am also excited as she has said, that she has managed to get me something that I have mentioned on this blog!!! Now as you know, I like alot of things on this blog, so, wow??!!?? I wonder what it could be!! Think, think!! Lol!!!

Is it Disney, Hello Kitty??? I may drive myself mad, ha ha!!!

I am a very lucky girl though :D I am still addicted to the Olympics, however my viewing was disrupted today by having to go back to work, boo!! However we have won more medals, yay!! Team GB now has 40 medals!!! 18 Gold, 11 Silver and 11 Bronze!! So excited!! Last night I watched Usain Bolt win the 100m in 9.63 seconds!! Amazing!! I love this picture of him doing the 'Bolt' with our mascot Wenlock :D

Go Team GB!!!

29 Medals so far, 8 Bronze, 7 Silver and 14 Gold!!!

London 2012 Olympics!

I don't know about any of you, but I am addicted to the Olympics! I have the App and everything! Luckily I have been on holiday this week, so I have been able to watch quite a bit, infact as I type the Men's single skulling race is on, and our Team GB lad is doing really well, infact he has just won Bronze, so well done!!! I'm so pleased as well that Team GB's first Gold was brought home by the girls! :D

So what cute items can you purchase, to help support your country or just add to your growing kawaii collection, well - Hello Kitty never lets us down and she too has been ready to celebrate the Olympics, especially as they are being held in her hometown of London!

Then I musn't forget our officail Olympic mascots Wenlock and Mandeville! There has been alot of controversy around these two, but I have always liked them. There backstory is that they are drops of steel, that fell from the last girder going into the Olympic stadium and they formed Wenlock and Mandeville.

I also love the little chocolate versions that Cadbury's have done, there yummy too!!

I Work Cake, Sleep Cake and Eat Cake!

This month has been a very Cakey month, infact it has been commented that 95% of my personal Facebook updates recently have all mentioned Cake. It started with work introducing a new range of cakes and they were all save a third, then with my discount off as well, it would have been rude not too!! The marbled chocolate brownie is my current favourite! Then for Fathers Day my Dad asked for a new mixer, and now he is back in the swing of baking cakes again, and he's really good!!! He just made some (which I decorated) for Jakki's 50th Birthday, and they have gone down a storm, everyone who has tried them, loved them!!

Above is the just final product after I decorated them! Inspecting them is Mr Elephant (more about him at another time). Now as you know, I have posted before about cupcakes, as I am quite a fan (I have so many recipe books, just to look at the pictures, lol!) but I figured you can never have enough Cupcakes, so lets dedicate a whole post to them and include cute big cakes too!! A new business has started in Barrow called The Cake District (loving the play on The Lake District), and this lasy is very talented!!! Check out her Facebook page! Just to show you some examples, first are her Baby cupcakes, now these are perfect for Christenings or Baby showers, and even the hardened "not keen on kids" people like me, surely must coo at how adorable these cakes are!!

She also makes some amazing big cakes, like this Alice styled Eat me cake -

Totally relying now on the fact that Dave doesn't read my blog, I have commisioned the following cake for his 30th in September!! Can't wait to see it in the flesh as it were!!!

So thats my local talent covered, now going further afield, in America there is a company called Savoy truffle and Cake - www.savoytruffleandcake.com and this lady makes the most amazing high end cakes, look at the picture of the Kimono silk wedding cake!! But my favourite is the Totoro cake!! Look at the detail, amazing.

Of course I have to get my Disney themes in somewhere, and there are some amazing Disney cakes out there, with alot of people having great creativity and talent. Some of my favourites are - Alice in Wonderland Cupcakes found via the Cupcake blog, again its the detail that amazes me!

The Muppets made their grand comeback last year and Disney Cakes shows us how awesome they look in Cupcake form too -

We all loved Squirt in Finding Nemo, he's even cuter on a cake!! -

Leaving the Disney theme, we have pictures of Cakes which are just well in my opinion, awesome!! First, they may not be cute but they are fab, don't go into the water, its Jaws!!!!!

This next cupcake makes me think of my friend Vince, as when we went to cons, he always survived on Cup Noodles!!

Then I saw these Whale cakes and I actually squealed!!!

Recently I've seen alot of people utilising Oreo cookies in their cupcake decorating, (another of my favourite tasty treats), but my favourite so far has to be these Panda cakes -

I really do love these, I think they are such a clever design!!! If you want a cute character check out Askingfortroubles Cakeify, I mentioned previously I had ordered the pen, well I was so pleased with I went and ordered another one, along with a phone charm!!

Soo cute and a bargain at £1. Now if you could actually bear to cut into these cakes and actually eat them, perhaps you would want to do this with uber cute utensils -

Whilst we dream of these lovely cakes, wicked critters has done a lovely illustration, which must surely be from a cupcakes perspective, lol, enjoy and now I'm off to find some cake!!!

A Dream is a wish your heart makes....

Apologies for not posting in a very long time, again I can only blame work! I have been off on holiday this week, not that I have been anywhere, the weather has not been the best, infact we have just had a months worth of rain fall in 24 hours!! Not fun!! I did get chance to go through to Manchester for the day to catch up with my friends Dave and Vince, during this I got my first chance to go to a Sushi bar, which I haven't had chance to do before, due to my Dave's fish hatred. I really enjoyed it, but did find that I was mesmerised by the multiple pretty dished whizzing around!! My favourite was the Salmon Nigri, yum!! Being off this week, has made me yearn for my hoilday, where I am actually going away somewhere, I have even been sad and added an app to my phone that counts down to my plans, lol!! I can now say, it is 10 weeks until Dave and I go to Salzburg! Cannot wait!! Also if you have seen my countdown clock, my 30th Birthday Disney trip has been booked!! Yay!! We have changed hotels, and will now be staying on the Admirals floor of the Newport Bay Club (It has a private reception area, and is with the private suites and has views of Lake Disney!) So excited, Dave has treated me to my part of the stay, and he actually said he's looking forward to having a swim, so at least I know he's looking forward to something. Mum has bought me the Birthday Disney Vinylmation to take with us, and have some fun photo opportunities! I can't wait!! 37 weeks, although i'd like to leave the 30 bit behind :( My friend Judy is still in Japan, and having an amazing time. I received a parcel from her the other day, which was fab!! She used different postcards to write her letter, (something we have all stolen from our friend Anita). I have used these to make myself a rather nice picture :) I love the ice sculpture of Mickey Mouse!! Amazing!! Included in my pile of goodies, were some adorable chocolate snowmen, a beautiful compact mirror, covered in a beautiful rabbit fabric, and the cutest Owl charm which was from her trip to Taiwan. I was a very lucky girl :) In August, my two friends Vince and Mather are going out there, and will meet up with Judy, I am incredibly jealous, and wish I had thousands of pounds spare, so that I could also stalk them!! Instead I have opted to live my dreams through them until I get to go, by bombarding their facebook wall with interesting places I have heard about, like the Cup Noodle Museum!! A whole museum dedicated to Cup Noodles, how could you not go, lol!! http://www.cupnoodles-museum.jp/english/index.html One place that I read about courtesy of a blog I follow, http://www.askingfortrouble.org/crafts/ which features very cute illustrations and characters by Marceline Smith. I love her blog as it is very informative, and I love when she illustrates her "what I wore" section. She also has a fantastic online shop, and I have just purchased the Cakeify pen. The mystery place that I read about was the Takoyaki Museum, which Vince doubted existed until he googled it!! Takoyaki is fried or grilled Octopus, cooked in batter, into a ball shape in a special pan, with takoyaki sauce. It is a famous takeaway dish in the Osaka region, and yes they too have a museum dedicated to it!! Which by the looks of it, also sells rather cute themed souveneirs! Sigh, I want to go to Japan, trouble is I think I would bankrupt myself in the first few seconds, cute stuff overload!!! Lol!! P.S. I don't like how blogger is putting the photos in :(

Disney Withdrawal ....

I am having some serious Disney Withdrawal symptons at the moment, I wish I could have a lottery win so that I could run away to Disneyland Paris, book a castle suite, yes a suite and stay there for at least 3 weeks, stuffing my face with Mickey waffles and Nutella, sigh.

Alas this is not going to happen anytime soon, so I have to continue saving, and know that in 1 years time I will be heading their to celebrate/mourn the fact that I am 30... shudder.
So until this time, I will have to make do with saving, and looking at all the lovely Disney things out there, ( hampers the saving, some what when I purchase, oops).Wednesday was a prime example, I had to stay overnight at the Metro Centre, for a meeting the next day. I arrived there at 6p, after leaving Barrow on the train at 1:30pm :( Tired, hungry, and with a loss of bearings, I just wanted to get to my hotel, but then I saw the Disney Store shining like a beacon at me, so I had to go in and have a look. I really didn't intend to spend, BUT they had the Disney nerds range in, only a few bits, but they had it. Now I must admit Mickey and Minnie scare me abit in this style, I think it's the teeth....

They did have the best keyring I have seen in a long time though... Stitch Nerd! I nearly squeaked out loud when I noticed him hanging their! So cute, and not at all scary, well of course I had to buy!

How could anyone be able to resist him, look at his little geeky shirt, aww!!
Luckily I was too tired to veture any further into the shopping centre, lol!
So as I mentioned to keep me going I've been looking at quite a few things, and these are the ones that have stoof out.

I really want to hunt these little princess trinket boxes down, they have the most happy faces, and the corresponding jewellery inside is such a cute idea.

This Disney rement set will be very suitable for me next year, and have less calories, lol!

A range i've been looking at for a while is the Pook a Looz range. When I was in New York, I noticed some of these plushies in a toystore, but I was so overwhelmed, well by pretty much everything I didn't pay them much attention, which I could kick myself over. Oh well, one day I may get the chance, but for now annoyingly the range isn't available in the uk, grr!! When it is I want the following -

Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow is utterly yum, nut if you can't snuggle him at night, i'll take this as am alternative.

Stich, enough said!

I did manage to order some charms from Japan, the Chip one for me, and the Sorcerer Mickey for my mum.

I know I don't need a bag, but this is a cute bag ;)
Then lastly, I am very happy with my phone, but now after seeing this case, I really want an iphone 4s, lol!! Fickle I know, ha ha!!
