Chinese New Year

Well it is fast approaching, I have posted all my small gifts to my friends who will be celebrating the New Year. Annoyingly after I came back from the post office I realised I hadn't taken a photo of the rabbit I had made! Doh! Oh well will have to make more.
I have just been on www.theholidayspot.com to see what the Year of the Rabbit will be bringing for us, and it doesn't look too bad -
A placid year, very much welcomed and needed after the ferocious year of the Tiger. We should go off to some quiet spot to lick our wounds and get some rest after all the battles of the previous year.

Good taste and refinement will shine on everything and people will acknowledge that persuasion is better than force. A congenial time in which diplomacy, international relations and politics will be given a front seat again. We will act with discretion and make reasonable concessions without too much difficulty.

A time to watch out that we do not become too indulgent. The influence of the Rabbit tends to spoil those who like too much comfort and thus impair their effectiveness and sense of duty.

Law and order will be lax; rules and regulations will not be rigidly enforced. No one seems very inclined to bother with these unpleasant realities. They are busy enjoying themselves, entertaining others or simply taking it easy. The scene is quiet and calm, even deteriorating to the point of somnolence. We will all have a tendency to put off disagreeable tasks as long as possible

Money can be made without too much labor. Our life style will be languid and leisurely as we allow ourselves the luxuries we have always craved for. A temperate year with unhurried pace. For once, it may seem possible for us to be carefree and happy without too many annoyances.
The money bit sounds good!
Whilst browsing I found a blog called asianmommy.com and she has some fab links to these really cute New Year Bunny cakes!! I don't know how you'd be able to eat them, there so cute! Also on Amazon you can purchase this uber cute Hello Kitty! Shes dressed all ready to bring in the New Year!
I then found some amazing New Year Pictures by different artists on Petshopstudio.com, there are some very talented people out there! My favourite was this cute bunny in this floral wreath, I found it peaceful to look at! It has been done by the artist gi-chang, uber talent!
Then on vintagemugs.com, I found this Bunny mug, which I think is adorable! Apparently it is from the starbucks collection!?! I must pay more attention the next time I go in one!
So to everyone in preperation for Thursday, Happy New Year!! 新年快樂

I want this suitcase!!!!!!!!

Not really a post, but I WANT!!!!!!

Resolutions breaking.... thanks Modes4u!!! :)

Ok so there not going so well, I last wrote in my diary on the 10th January, and I broke yesterday and placed an order! For thos failure I blame Modes4u! I noticed on their facebook page a picture of Lai See's (Red envelopes) which are given to children at Chinese New Year. I personally have alsways loved the varied designs, so once I saw the picture I was drawn like a magpie, and then was tempted. At the moment Modes4u are offering a free Lai See containing a surprise for every order placed. They only have 132 to give away though so anyone interested best act fast! Well my interest was peaked then and I decided to browse, thus noticing new Disney minature sets. Now these are something I have looked at online for ages, but have never ordered before. But this Disney dreamy magival restaurant really took my fancy, and I thought it may make a good present for my Mum, as A) She is Disney mad like me and B) She does dollhouse's, so she might like the minature aspect. Plus it was £4.22, which is one of the best prices I have found. Then I looked at the stationary (probably my biggest weakness in life!) and found that I had to order some erasers, because they were too cute. I mean come on Pocky erasers! Who doesn't want them! Lol, can't wait for the order to arrive. So go check out www.modes4u.com!!

Birthday Cuteness

Just a quick update as I'm planning on a Valentines themed post, when I actually get a day off! But I had to post this picture of the super cute birthday cake courtesy of Marks and Spencer!!
I found it very hard to cut a slice out of Hello Kitty's face, but I must say she was very tasty! Only trouble is I bought her for my Dad's birthday, and he wasn't as taken with it as Mum and I!! Ha ha!

Cute Kitchenware

Last night My friends and I watched Whip it! Which if you haven't seen it, you should its a really good film! I left Kezz's house last night desperately wanting to be a Roller Derby girl and had even decided on my derby name, 'The Pert Panda'. One of the other things I loved about the film was the aprons they wear to work in the Oink Joint! I want one, badly!! This along with some pics my friend Cat has been posting on my Facebook wall has made me think about kawaii kitchenware, and there is lots out there. I own a few bits myself in my Disney/Cupcake themed kitchen. My favourite is the fabulous cat rice bowl my friend Judy got me for my birthday last year! Its so cute and such a handy size, I do love it so!
Browsing the internet there is obviously lots of lovely things, and again I sit and wish I had millions in the bank. A few things in particular caught my eye, firstly at www.lamadesigns.com I noticed these cute salt and pepper pots and these amazing teapots! Oh how I want! They have cute hats and scarves! Love them, when I saw them it did make me squeal out loud! Next I checked out www.icecreamdrops.com, and again they have lots of cute things. I especially liked this cute train mug! When you have a train mad Dad, and you've been brought up on Thomas the tank engine, you end up with liking for transport related items! I must admit I have a penchant for Red London buses, but thats another story!
Anyway I am going to continue browsing and making a shopping list in my head!

One afternoon and evening in London

Courtesy of work I have just returned from a very brief trip to London. I had to down for a meeting on Tuesday, but because of the early start I had to travel down the day before. So on Monday, after a very long train journey, which spent half an hour sat outside of London! Eventually I got into London, and made my way to the tube. The nearest to my hotel was Paddington, and then I had the epithany! Paddington station is where the Paddington statue is!! It is on my statue list! I have wanted to see it since I was little, finally I had the opportunity. So I rushed to my hotel, checked in as quick as I could and hit the streets again. I made my way back to Paddington station and began my search for the statue, which I found surprisingly hard to find. Eventually I went and asked a member of staff who informed me Paddington had gone to lunch! I played along and found that I was literally metres away! Doh! I did a bit of squealing and tried balancing taking my own photo with my phone, until a kind M&S staff member took pity on me and took the photo for me. Us Marks and Sparksians sense when each other are in distress, lol!
I then made my way to Harrods, hoping that the sale my still be on, and to my luck it was. I began my mooch into the gift section, and what was the first thing to hit me? The new Hello Kitty at Harrods range, squeal! So cute! Unfortunately I was only able to afford a pen! Oh well! I did manage to get some bargains, some cute bear stockings for 95p! Bargains at Harrods! I finally got a Harrods shopping bag as well, a bargainous £6.45. I left there feeling very happy indeed! I then headed Piccadily Circus for some souveneir shopping (I can never resist) and for some other shops I like to check out in the area. In a mall I found some shops, with lots of Kawaii items, I could have spent a fortune, but I stuck to my resolutions! I fell in love with this cute pig mug that had a Hard hat lid! I wish now I had bought it, but hey ho, I feel it's the right mug for a Fire, Health and Safety officer! Damn, wish I had got it....
I also found a little shop that was dedicated completely to Kawaii pandas! They had multiple plushies, I love the laying down one, he looks so fed up!
I then went into a new souveneir shop, which was huuuuuuuuuuuuuge! called Cool Brittania. It was so funny, everything possible had the Union Jack on it, they even had a Mini with a Union Jack roof parked in the middle of the shop! There was so much tacky stuff, it was amazing, and I loved how they kept describing everything as cool over the tannoy! Do I decided to go down and try out the 'Cool' cafe, and it did not let me down. I sat on a Union Jack chair, and a Union Jack flag table, served with tea (In a Union Jack Mug) and cake, all on a Union Jack Tray, and the waitress put my serviettes between the Union Jack salt and pepper pots! I must say I thought it was over the top awesome! I then headed to China Town where I found Giant boxes of Pocky! I'm seriously hoping that the Pocky inside was as big! After admiring more cute stuff than seemed possible, I headed to Hyde Park Corner to meet up with my friend Mather, and we went for dinner at Hard Rock Cafe! Now I have been to many Hard Rocks but not this one, which is the original, so it was very cool. We had a lovely evening and ate way to much! We ended up sharing a shot glass sized pudding and it nearly killed us! We then went to the shop, where we ended up being taken down to the museum, which was pretty cool. There I was allowed to touch Slash's guitar, purely to make Dave jealous!
After we went for a walk, then I took Mather to the Cool Brittania shop, he agreed it was wonderfully tacky!
As it was late I then headed back to my hotel, where the rain decided to soak me, as soon as I was away from the lovely Mather and his eually lovely umbrella!
Next day I went to my meeting which was interesting, but I won't bore you with. On the way back to Euston I stopped at Topshop as I wanted to check out the artbox stuff, but sadly I could not find it anywhere, I guess there not stocking it anymore. shame. I did manage to pick up this cute Momiji rabbit in the sale, which I think i'm going to send my friend Vince as a gift for chinese new year!
After all this excitement I then had a long quiet journey home!

If I win the lottery..............

Last night I spent some pleasant time browsing one of my favourites sites www.strapya-world.com
If I won the lottery, I would place such a big order! A few things caught my eye -
First these Cute little Rilakkuma pastry charms, they look cute enough to eat!
Second is this fab travel card holder, featuring Hello Kitty dressed as a rabbit, which is apt as this is the year of the rabbit. But if your someone that travels alot or has an Oyster card, what better way to carry it!
Next is this little Kapibara. I got a lovely squishy one a couple of years ago from an anime con, but this little guy vibrates when you pull the apple!! Squeal!!
Then last but not least, for anyone like me, who has more charms than accessories, or for those of you that have i-phones, and cannot have charms, check out these charm buttons. They stick to your phone, ipod, mp3, laptop, notebook, anything you want, and you can attach your charms! I thinks this is a great little item, and alongside other inventions up there with the wheel! Lol!
Best buy a lottery ticket this week!!

2011 is the year of the Rabbit, so I have decided to try and make some cute Bunny items as gifts for 2 of my friends. I have made my first proto type, and i'm quite pleased with it, just need to tidy up a few areas. Also the design I have come up with can also be used for Easter! I will make some more more and then post pics!

Something to look forward too!!!

It is done!! We have booked our holiday to Disneyland Resort Paris!! Yay! Something to look forward too. We will be going in October, so will be there as they start to celebrate Halloween. This will be good, as with losing Buster on my favourite day last year was obviously awful, so this will hopefully help it pass a bit easier and bring some of the magic back.We will be staying once again in the luxuorious Disneyland Hotel, I love it in there, and I love how subtle the Disney theme is. You have to look at the wall paper, the carpet pattern etc, to botice the characters. Looking at some pictures courtesy of Google, it does look really good, and we just love being there. The magic really does take over you when your there! Can't wait to see what cute stuff they have done, especially featuring Stitch!
Just got to keep saving, so I can treat myself when I get there!

Imagine working here......

I watched a documentry on Pixar the other day on BBC3, it was fascinating and showed lots of clips, including the really sad bit from Up. Did get funny looks, as i'm sat crying at a documentry! One of the main things that I got from the documentry was, what a amazing place Pixar studios is! It must be one of the best places to work. There offices are little cabins, and they have models and toys everywhere! They see the workplace as an extension to the canvas. I wish I could get my manager to see this, I can to cut my desk cuteness down last year :( But the main office at Pixar, that I would love to visit/work in/pillage is John Lasseters. Oh my word I want that Catbus and Totoro! It's obviously not a bad thing being friends with Myazaki!

Happy New Year

Ok so I'm 5 days late, but I have been ill with a really bad cold, where basically I lost control of my face! I could not stop my eyes from watering! I spent my two days off from work, laid on the sofa, looking like I was breaking my heart. Did manage to watch alot of Columbo's though, through streaming eyes!
Alot of my sale items, have now arrived in the post, and I'm really pleased with them. The Artbox items, I am particuarly pleased with, and am having to make sure the items I ordered as presents, do end up in my present box and not my pile! It's taking alot of will power.
Speaking of will power, I have made my New Years resolutions. I have 5, and if I achieve a minimum of 3 I will be pleased. So here they are my 5 -
1) Keep a diary past January! Whole year would be good!
2) Reguarly update blog & try & get followers
3)Broaden diet through soup
4)Stop needlessly spending - The Credit Card is not really your friend!
5)Finally sort attic, rather than threaten it constantly!
So there they are in writing, and there not too hard to achieve. I have a lov ely new diary! It's just so hard keeping to nmber 4 when there is so much cute stuff around!
On this news My Christmas present from my Japanese friend Nao arrived, and she spoilt me! I got cute sealife food sticks, mini animal sauce bottles, a plushie penguin key cover, an awesome Hello Kitty headband (just right for when you have your pj's on and you want your hair out of the way), and a lovely compact mirror! As I said I have been very lucky!
